Important Information About Saturday's Convention!

To All Delegates,

As we approach the finish line to elect Douglas Wright as the Republican nominee for Congress, we would like to provide you with some important details and tips for Saturday’s convention so you may plan accordingly. For specific logistics, such as directions, parking information, seating, etc., please visit the 6th District’s website: http://www.sixthdistrictgop.org/convention-information/

Time/Check-in: Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., and delegates must be in their seats by 10:00 a.m. Please allow ample time for parking and check-in. You must have a photo ID to enter. Once you are inside, each unit will have a Douglas Wright Captain and other Wright leaders who will be easily recognizable. Please look to them for recommended voting. They will be in touch with you when you arrive in your seats.

Attire: Wear comfortable, casual clothes and shoes. Feel free to bring a sweater or jacket in case it gets cool inside the convention center.

Bring: JMU permits you to bring in one sealed bottle of water and one sealed snack. We recommend you also bring a book, magazine, iPad, games, etc. for any down time (when voting occurs, committees are meeting, etc.). Also, you may want to bring a seat cushion and a portable phone/iPad charger (internet access is limited in the Convocation Center).

Food/Beverages: Concessions will be open, so bring any money needed to purchase items at the concession stands. As mentioned above, you can only bring in one sealed bottle of water and one sealed snack.

Campaign Signs: Posters, placards, and banners shall be held by hand only and not affixed to stakes, walls or other surfaces (other than tables designated for the purpose). Materials not complying shall be subject to confiscation by the Sergeant-at-Arms.

If You Need to Step Out: You may leave the convention briefly if needed but will need to go through security and have your convention credentials to re-enter. Please check with your Wright floor captain before you leave to see if a vote is forthcoming that you need to be there for.

Etiquette: Please be polite to other candidates’ supporters, but feel free to lobby them over to the WRIGHT side in a friendly way!

AGAIN, PLEASE BE IN YOUR SEATS BY 10:00 AM AT THE LATEST.
The first vote for temporary Chairman is critical! We encourage you to VOTE for Jack Wilson.
Lastly, and most importantly, THANK YOU for participating in this historical event! We truly appreciate your time.

With gratitude,

Douglas Wright and Committee
